Will adjustments to the State Housing Construction Development Program of Kazakhstan help improve the current situation taking into account the liquidity shortage in the world financial markets and decline in commercial housing delivery? This year we proceeded to implementation of the next stage of the 2008-2010 State Housing Construction Development Program. The program has changed, first of all, it is a new loan scheme to purchase housing through Zhilstroisberbank at 4 per cent per annum without any initial payments. Secondly, the volumes of construction of leasehold housing for those waitlisted in the akimats will grow from 363,200 to 479,800 sq m. 5,900 apartments will be built for them. Further, to develop individual housing construction it is planned to increase registered capital of socio-entrepreneurial corporations by KZT 30 bln for utility networks. It will let boost the individual housing construction from 17,142 to 21,010 sq m in three years.
