Blackstone Real Estate to invest $18 mn in Synergy Property

Blackstone Real Estate Partners on Monday said it would invest 18 million dollars for a minority stake with Board representation in Bangalore-based Synergy Property Development Services.

Blackstone Real Estate Partners is an affiliate of the New york-based Blackstone Group.

Synergy specialises in architectural design and fitouts, complete management and turnkey contracts and currently has over 500 employees across nine Indian offices, with international offices in Dubai and Kuala Lumpur, a release said here.

Foreign investors eyeing booming realty sector

Foreign investors growing appetite for the booming Indian property market will enable the sector to increase its share in total FDI inflow into the country by at least 10 per cent in 2006-07, a study by industry body Assocham said. The study -- Future of Real Estate Investment in India -- projects that in 2006-07 the total foreign direct investments into India would be about eight billion dollars, of which the share of the real estate sector is estimated at 26.5 per cent. Commercial Real Estate News Digest Blackstone Group, the private equity firm that bought Equity Office Properties earlier this month in the biggest leveraged buyout ever, agreed to sell 17 of Equitys former buildings in the San Diego area to closely held Irvine Co. for an undisclosed sum.
